Family's Mysterious Deaths In Ancient Hobble Creek

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, five bodies were discovered shortly before 8 p.m. by an older son checking on his family. He hadn't heard from them, and went to their duplex in Springville, Utah, to find his deceased parents and siblings.

The five family members were identified Sunday as Benjamin Strack, 37, his wife, Kristi, 36, and three of their children, Benson, 14, Emery, 12, and Zion, 11.

The duplex where the family lived is located on a road leading to Springville High School in Springville, Utah, located about 45 miles south of Salt Lake City. Springville is a city of 30,000, just south of Provo.

The Springville High School's mascot name is "Red Devil," with the use of horns and pitchforks in various forms.

Is there an unconscious acknowledgement of the Devil in the origins of the local names?

What is today the city of Springville was originally incorporated in February 1853, as "Hobble Creek" by the early pioneers, allegedly because their horses were often hobbled (by loosely tying their front feet together) and left along the stream to graze in the lush grass. If the horses wandered into the creek, the hobbles came off in the water. Thus, the settlement earned its original name. After the change later to Springville, the original name was not completely lost, as the canyon stream (and associated canyons), a local elementary school, and city owned golf course have retained the name Hobble Creek.

But perhaps there is an alternative twilight meaning for "Hobble Creek."

In 2005, I wrote about the possible ritualistic killings in Zion, Illinois, under the headline, "Twilight Language in Zion?"

In that selection, I pointed out the deeper meaning to "Hobbs":
...Hobbs Lane has a long history of poltergeist, haunting and apparition activities. One keen young researcher discovers [in the retitled American Quatermass scifi film Five Million Years to Earth] an old street sign near the diggings, and she notes the spelling is “Hob’s Lane,” not “Hobbs Lane.” “Hob,” it turns out, is another name for “devil,” or the “Devil,” if you prefer.
Some words do not appear to be what they so calmly convey. “Hob,” for example, is an alteration of Robin or Robert, as in Robin Goodfellow, a rustic, a clown (lest we get too far from the phantom clowns). Goodfellow, sometimes called Puck, was/is a tricksy house sprite or elf in popular English fairy lore. And Puck is sometimes called hobgoblin. Even the descriptive verb “hobble” refers to the word’s origins, as the classic view of the Devil shows cloven hooves.
In the United States, consequently, Hobbs, New Mexico, and Hobbs, Indiana, have “devil’s names.” Although the local folks know a great deal about the strange things happening thereabouts, most probably do not know that the etymological origins of their towns’ names flash back to a demonic past.
Regarding last weekend's deaths, the first thoughts were of a murder-suicide, of late rather frequent in the news. But maybe something more mundane is occurring?

A preliminary autopsy has ruled out any violent assault in the deaths; there was no evidence of stabbing or gunshot wounds or other visible injuries to the five found dead Saturday, police investigators said.

Poison? The laboratory results of blood samples are not back.

Carbon monoxide poisoning? Testing found none in the house, but police found the front door of the house was open and the back door was cracked open before firefighters arrived. The gas could have ventilated before the test.

Since Springville was settled by members of the Church of the Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormons), there is a rather good chance this is a LDS family. The names appear to be Mormon. As one site says, certain names...
Could only be LDS: Cumorah Hill, Liahonna, Ensign, Nauvoo, Kirtland, Templa, Templer, Tempella, Tempalia, Ziona, Deseret (and Desereta), Tabernacle, Woodruff, Pratt, Tithing, Quorum, Helamans Warrior, Iron Rod, Morona, Manti, Stripling, Nephi Courage, Celestial Glory, Celestian, Brighaminie, Zion, Xione (pronounced "zion"). Source.
LDS parents pick names for specific special reasons.

"Jennifer Mansfield, a current graduate student in the Folklore Program at Utah State University, identified six different types of Mormon names: religious (Moroni, Nephi, Brigham), combination (Taylee, Mandylyn), invented (Kaislen), creatively spelled (Kady, Taeler), ancestral (Freestone, Jenkin), and themed (Monson, Hinckley, Kimball)." Source.
Some names, like Zion, are definitely directly identified with LDS families. Within the Latter Day Saint movement, Zion (often pronounced [ˈzaɪ.ən] by adherents of Mormonism rather than [ˈzaɪ.ɑn], which may be more common elsewhere in the United States) is often used to connote a utopian association of the righteous.

For example, Wikipedia lists the following, Latter-day Saint Usage of "Zion":
1. Zion retains its Biblical meaning and refers to Jerusalem; Zion is the name of a physical city founded by the prophet Enoch, also known as the City of Enoch;
2. Zion refers to the New Jerusalem, a physical, Millennial city expected to be located in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri;
3. Zion metaphorically refers to any group of people that are unified and "pure in heart"; the City of Enoch is one example of "a Zion people", and the people described in Fourth Nephi is another; for Zion to be fully realized, the society must be willing to live the Law of Consecration based on mutual feelings of charity, which is the pure love of Christ;
3. Zion is the central physical location to which Latter Day Saints have gathered; the term has been applied to Kirtland, Ohio; Jackson County, Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois; and the Salt Lake Valley;
4. Zion is also, according to Joseph Smith, the entire continent of America. Joseph Smith stated that “the whole of America is Zion itself from north to south”.
5. Zion is a metaphor for a unified society of Latter Day Saints, metaphorically gathered as members of the Church of Christ; in this sense any Stake of the church may be referred to as a "stake of Zion."

The name Strack comes from North German, from Middle Low German strak "stiff," hence a nickname for "an upright and highly principled person" or alternatively for "someone who was obstinate."

Oklahoma Beheading, Boston Marathon Bombing and 9/11 Links?

Conspiracy theories are one thing. Connecting the dots is another.

Suhaib Webb, an Imam with ties to former Al Qaeda mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki [shown above], had also previously been the leader of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, which had been attended by Alton Nolen -- the man who on Thursday [September 25, 2014] beheaded a former coworker after recently converting to Islam, Breitbart News has learned. Webb now serves as Imam of the sister organization of the mosque attended by Boston Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Source.
Anwar Awlaki was killed by a U.S drone strike in 2011.

The Islamic Society of Boston mosque, which the Brothers Tsarnaev frequented, is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Imam Suhaib Webb [shown above] has a history of ties to radicalism. FBI surveillance documents found that he was a known confidant of Al Qaeda mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki. Just two days before the September 11, 2001 attacks on America, Webb spoke at a fundraiser with Awlaki with hopes to raise funds for Atlanta-based H. Rap Brown, a man that shot and killed two police officers. Source.
Suhaib Webb was born William Webb in June 29, 1972 or 1973 (Wikipedia says both) in Oklahoma to a Christian family, including a grandfather who served as a preacher.

Webb is clear he never met Nolen, as he left Oklahoma City in 2001, long before Nolen began attending the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City.

His name today is Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin. Having been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, Al-Amin (below) was transferred on July 18, 2014 to Butner FMC Federal Medical Center in North Carolina, where he continues to serve his life sentence for his murder convictions.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev (left) and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are accused of detonating homemade bombs near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon. Tamerlan died after a police manhunt and Dzhokhar is awaiting trial. Their mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaev (pictured below), was placed on the terrorist watch list in 2011.

St. Michael, Dragons, Serpentine Wall and the FBI

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven," (Rev. 12:7).

Two off-duty FBI employees were killed Thursday night, September 25, 2014, after their pleasure boat hit a barge on the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Newport, Kentucky. Where the accident occurred is of some interest.

Action 19 News noted:
First responders located the boat in the river near the Serpentine Wall and found two men dead on board. Cincinnati Police says the pleasure boat collided with a commercial tow boat around 11 p.m.
The FBI - Cincinnati division - released a statement on September 26th:
It is with great sadness that we advise that two FBI employees were involved in a tragic accident late last night that claimed their lives. At this time, family members are still being notified.
They were identified as John Stack II, 29, and Bruce Eastlick, 28. (Condolences to their loved ones and relatives, as well as their FBI family.)

The Serpentine Wall is a serpentine-shaped flood wall on the banks of the Ohio River. It was completed in 1976. The wall features steps descending to the river upon which visitors can sit and look across to Northern Kentucky. The riverfront wall is at Yeatman's Cove, between Sawyer Point park and the Public Landing. Sawyer Point is located at 720 E. Pete Rose Way (Riverfront) and is one of Cincinnati's "party" parks. A popular place to laze about is the Serpentine Wall steps that lead into the Ohio River.

Monday, September 29, 2014, is Michaelmas, feast day of the enemy of that serpent of old, a.k.a., the dragon.

Saint Michael Fighting the Dragon by Albrecht Dürer, woodcut, 1498.

As recounted by the Revelation of Saint John, at the end of the world, war will breakout between Heaven and Hell, between good and evil. As the commander of the Army of God, Archangel Michael leads the other angels in the fight against evil, represented in this picture by a seven-headed dragon.
Although he is always called "the Archangel," the Greek Fathers and many others place him over all the angels - as Prince of the Seraphim. St. Michael is the patron of grocers, mariners, paratroopers, police and sickness. Source.
The specific medallion used by paratroopers for protection gained from St. Michael.
Michaelmas, the feast of Saint Michael the Archangel (also the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael, the Feast of the Archangels, or the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels) is a day in the Western Christian liturgical year that occurs on 29 September. Because it falls near the equinox, it is associated in the northern hemisphere with the beginning of autumn and the shortening of days. In medieval England, Michaelmas marked the ending and beginning of the husbandman's year, George C. Homans observes: "at that time harvest was over, and the bailiff or reeve of the manor would be making out the accounts for the year."
In Christianity, the Archangel Michael is the greatest of all the Archangels and is honored for defeating Lucifer in the war in heaven. He is one of the principal angelic warriors, seen as a protector against the dark of night, and the administrator of cosmic intelligence. Michaelmas has also delineated time and seasons for secular purposes as well, particularly in the United Kingdom and Ireland as one of the quarter days. Michaelmas was also one of the English, Welsh and Irish quarter days when accounts had to be settled. On manors, it was the day when a reeve was elected from the peasants.
In Anglican and Episcopal tradition, there are three or four archangels in its calendar for 29 September feast for St. Michael and All Angels: namely Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, and often, Uriel. The Bible itself identifies only Michael as "the archangel" (Book of Jude, verse 9) and does not identify any other creatures as being archangels.
Michaelmas is still celebrated in the Waldorf schools, which celebrate it as the "festival of strong will" during the autumnal equinox. Rudolf Steiner considered it the second most important festival after Easter, Easter being about Christ ("He is laid in the grave and He has risen"). Michaelmas is about man once he finds Christ ("He is risen, therefore he can be laid in the grave"), meaning man finds the Christ (risen), therefore he will be safe in death (laid in the grave with confidence). Source.
The day the reeve is elected?
Reeves is among those special family titles that have been pinpointed as playing a magnetic role in the "name game." John Keel once told me that people named Reeve/Reeves have a lot of strange experiences. Many monster witnesses have been named Reeves. A glance at the indexes of Fortean Times will show a sprinkling of Reeves and Reeve, as witnesses and contributors. A man named Reeves was the primary witness in a now famous Brooksville, Florida UFO case.
As Jerome Clark has written: "A man so obscure as to be barely known to most other residents of the rural area where he lived, John F. Reeves, 66, became the focus of international attention in 1965, when he reported an encounter with a UFO and its occupant."
Contactees Bryant and Helen Reeve reached celebrity status in the 1950s after writing their book, Flying Saucer Pilgrimage. Much has been written of the tragic coincidences whirling around the lives of the actors (George Reeves and Christopher Reeve) who played the television and movie Superman (a fictional character who was an alien come to Earth to assist humans) and the "superman" (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix. There is a reason it's called the Name Game. ~ Loren Coleman, 2002.

Is there evil that needs to be fought? By the FBI? By paratroopers? By Reeves? By St. Michael? These are strange times in which we live.

The disembodied heads of the Vaughan family crest, complete with serpent, are metaphoric of the Moore beheading at Vaughan Foods.

More on Moore's Vaughan Foods Beheading

There are more developments in the beheading that occurred in Moore, Oklahoma. (Please see my first posting on this event, here.)

As you will recall, it was reserve police officer and the chief operating officer Mark Vaughan of Vaughan Foods who was declared a hero for stopping the accused suspect from attacking anyone any further.

As far as the twilight language is concerned, perhaps most intriguing is that the Vaughan family crest is three disembodied heads. (This information was conveyed to me by a member of the Vaughan clan overnight, whom I thank.)

The story behind the Vaughan creat involves a tale that syncs with the beheadings.

The above (modern) version of the Vaughan head in their crest was done by artist Tony Barton.

One version of the origin tale for the Vaughans is that the triad of heads "represents a group of Saxon boys being strangled or beheaded - the usual appearance is in a group of three heads." Source.

Something this way wicked comes....

Alton Alexander Nolen definitely appears to have engaged in a copycat beheading, based on his viewing of the ISIS and related beheadings noted often in the media. The "copycat" theme is even being acknowledged by alternative news sites (see here).

Oklahoma beheading suspect Alton Alexander Nolen calls himself “Jah’Keem Yisrael” on his Facebook page, where he uploaded photos of himself reading the Koran and wearing Muslim religious clothing. Source.
Earlier this year, Nolen, whose Facebook 'cover' photo appears to show several Taliban fighters, posted a photo of the 9/11 attacks, writing: 'A future prophecy revelation 18.8. She (the Statue of Liberty) is going into flames. She and anybody who's with her'. Source.

Aurora Fire: A Self-Immolation?

The Aurora fire in the FAA air traffic control tower appears to have been a probable suicidal event.

Charged with one count of Destruction of Aircraft or Aircraft Facilities was Brian Howard of 1307 Ivy Lane, Apt #201, Naperville, Illinois, in connection with the fire at the FAA Air Route Traffic Control Center in Aurora, Illinois.
ABC News reports:
According to the complaint, Harris allegedly entered the facility at 5:06 a.m. dragging a black hard-sided roller board suitcase. The complaint alleges that at 5:36 a.m., a message appeared on a Facebook account held in Howard’s name, and that message, containing a reference to ZAU, the three-letter call number for the facility, was subsequently forwarded to law enforcement authorities.
Paramedics from the Aurora Fire Department, responding to a 911 call at 5:42 a.m. by an individual at the facility, entered the basement and followed a trail of blood that ultimately led to an individual later identified as Harris, according to the complaint.
Thomas told reporters this morning, "It appears to be a fire set by a contract employee. There was no terrorist act."
The suspect was taken to the hospital with burns all over his body and self-inflicted knife wounds, a federal law enforcement source told ABC News. Howard was not an FAA employee but authorized to be in the facility, according to two sources. His motivation is still unclear.
A federal law enforcement official told ABC News “It sounds like it [the fire] was intentionally set,” though adding “it does not sound like it was an attack on the facility.”

Various 2014 and 2013 incidents of self-immolations are noted hereherehere, and here.

Moore and More Beheadings

Assyrians counting heads. Source

A man has beheaded a woman, Colleen Hufford, 54, after a workplace dispute in Moore, Oklahoma, U.S. law enforcement officials told CNN on September 26, 2014. The suspect also tried to kill another woman.

The suspect reportedly worked at Vaugan Foods in Moore and had been trying to convert his co-workers to Islam. The FBI is actively investigating the case. KFOR reports that the Feds are targeting the religious elements of the case.

The incident happened late Thursday afternoon, at 4:15 pm, September 25, 2014, at a Vaughan Foods processing plant at 216 NE 12th St # A in Moore, in Cleveland County, which is located about 10 miles south of Oklahoma City. The plant is located between a railroad trackway and Messenger Road.

There were no immediate indications of a link to terrorism, officials said.
A sheriff's deputy shot the suspect, identified by officials as 30-year-old Alton Alexander Nolen (shown above). Nolen was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Nolen was shot and subdued by an off-duty Oklahoma County reserve deputy, Mark Vaughan, who was working security at Vaughan Foods.

Nolen has ties to the Bell meme:

In 2009, court records indicate that Nolen (born August 16, 1984) living in Idabel, Oklahoma. Formerly, the post office there had been named was called Bokhoma (Choctaw for "Red River"), when opened on December 15, 1902. Railroad officials then chose the name Idabel, a compound of the names of Isaac Purnell's two daughters, Ida and Bell. The post office was then renamed Idabel. (H/T to BT.)

His criminal records also note he may have attended the traditional black college of Langston University, which is located in Logan County, Oklahoma. Two of his felonies were of selling pot in Logan County, in or near Langston, Oklahoma. I talked about the Logan name in July.

More and more beheadings appear to be in store for the West's immediate future.

The Moore beheading followed the release on September 23, 2014, of a new ISIS related beheading video.

French tourist Hervé Gourdel was beheaded by Algerian militant group Jund al-Khilafa following his abduction in the north-east Kabylie region. He was a 55-year-old qualified mountain guide.

A few sites have identified Gourdel's shirt as an Illuminati pyramid t-shirt. No confirmation of that fact has been made.

Hervé Gourdel was captured by the Islamist ISIS-aligned group while hiking in the Djurdjura National Park on Sunday, one day after he arrived for a 10-day walking holiday. The park is located in Kabylie and is named after the Djurdjura Range of the Tell Atlas, Algeria. The Roman Empire used to call it Iron mountain in Latin (Montus Ferratus). The name Djurdjura is also used for the villages located in this mountain chain. Mmis n'Djerdjer means "children of the Djurdjura," which is a Kabyle word referring to mountain inhabitants; there is also a Kabyle female group called DjurDjura.

Ancient reports of a tribe of Amazons in Libya may be related to this Algerian female group.
According to several historical records, the Libyan birthplace of the Goddess Neith was also the traditional homeland of the warrior women known as the Libyan Amazons, in the western parts of Libya, particularly around the legendary Lake Tritonis (southern Tunisia today). The etymology of the name "Amazon" is still undecided, with European enthusiasts deriving the name from Greek Muse, and Berberists linking it with Amazigh and Tamezyant. Source.

Name Game: Warren Bridge Collapse & Aurora Tower Fire

Two separate travel-related incidents have occurred, both around 6 a.m. this Friday morning. One involves a bridge collapse and the other a FAA traffic control tower. Both appear to link to name games you have read about here.

One person is dead, the driver of a waste-hauling truck on Friday morning, September 26, 2014.

The truck hit the Cathedral Road pedestrian bridge over Detroit's Southfield Freeway (M-39), which caused it to collapse, near West Warren Ave, near Warrendale.

Reports about the collapse came into police about 6 a.m. The waste-hauling truck's boom was extended too high to go under the bridge.

"When the boom struck the bridge, it actually pulled the bridge down with it," Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw observed.

No one was on the bridge when it fell.

The driver was taken to a hospital and died. He has been identified, late in the day, as 54-year-old Stanford Michael Doll of Almont.

The Southfield Freeway (M-39) was closed from Interstate 96 to Joy Road.

According to CBSDetroit:
In a bizarre twist, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was on the scene mingling with observers after his car was stopped by the bridge collapse.
One of Detroit’s biggest sports stars was quickly — and safely — picked up by a member of the team’s security, a spokesman later confirmed, saying Stafford was uninjured.
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford escaped danger early Friday morning, as his car would have soon been the one under the bridge. (The football player's nickname is Matty Moonball.)

Roop Raj of Fox 2 and others report the sixth-year pro was right near the bridge when the accident occurred:

Shown is Detroit Lions QB Matt Stafford on Southfield Freeway, shortly after the time of bridge collapse.

Please note, also pictured above, to the upper right, is the partial sign reading "Warren," a power name. In my 1983 book, Mysterious America, after discussing the special weirdness regarding name games, I wrote: "Cryptologic or coincidence? Jim Brandon should be credited with calling attention to the name Watts/Watkins/Watson, and its entanglement with inexplicable things. Some other names involved in mysterious events pinpointed by Brandon are Bell, Mason, Parsons, Pike, Vernon, and Warren. The influence of such names as Mason, Pike, Warren, and Lafayette, for example, issues, in some cryptopolitical and occult way, from their ties to the Masonic tradition."

WWJ’s Charlie Langton, reporting live from the scene, said, “The pedestrian overpass is totally down, smashed to bits, the sign for Warren Avenue is smashed to bits. It’s just a mass of concrete and metal, it’s incredible.”

Meanwhile, also in the Midwest, all Chicago air traffic was stopped early today after a deliberately set 6:00 am fire at a Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control facility in the Chicago suburb of Aurora, an FAA spokeswoman says.

Air travel for thousands of people across the country was thrown into disarray Friday morning after a fire closed a major Chicago-area air traffic control center that directs traffic across a large swath of the Midwest.
Mystery surrounded the interruption, as authorities reported not only that a fire closed the Federal Aviation Administration control center in Aurora, Illinois, but also that a man was found with self-inflicted wounds there.
Responders found a person suffering from cuts to at least one wrist, two law enforcement officials told CNN, citing initial reports from investigators. The person is being treated and questioned about the fire, which appears to have been intentionally set, the officials said. Investigators believe the person tried to commit suicide, the officials said.
The fire is not believed to be a terrorism act, Aurora Police Chief Greg Thomas told reporters. It appears to have been set by a contract employee, he said. Two people were injured: the male suffering from self-inflicted wounds and a man, 50, who was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, Thomas said. CNN

Planes destined for Chicago-area airports, including O'Hare and Midway, won't be allowed to depart until at least 10 a.m. CT (11 a.m. ET) because of the fire, the FAA says. The Chicago ground stop will likely create a ripple effect for travelers around the nation.

Several postings at Twilight Language have dealt with the Aurora name game, as the theater shooting at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises occurred in Aurora, Colorado. These are some:

Bane/Bain Bursts Bare ~ The Aurora Shootings Predicted

There's also breaking news out of Moore, Oklahoma, of a workplace violence event, involving a beheading. I will deal with that separately, in another posting, later.

Thanks for the news alerts from BG, TC, AWG, and CP.
